Montenegro Travel Inspiration

There is so much to see and do in the fascinating little country of Montenegro. Just think about the beautiful beaches alongside stunning mountain ranges, your travelling spirit will certainly come alive! We have selected a few of the best towns and cities to visit on your trip to Montenegro.

  1. Budva – a beautiful old fishing village by the Mediterranean and one of the main tourist centers of Montenegro. With a historically rich spider-web of mysterious alleys and staircases, small squares and narrow streets it really is something special! Take the 1 EUR bus trip to visit the picturesque near-by island of Sveti Stefan. If you can afford the EUR 1500 you can stay at the luxury villa on the islands exclusive hotel.   2. Podgorica - as one of the newest capitals in the world this popular city is a blend of the old and new architectures with green tree-lined avenues and shopping strips. A trip to Podgorica will no doubt come with a short stint in this city. Whilst visiting Podgorica be sure to check out the towers and caves of amongst the ruins of Nemanjica grad (Nemanja´s town), a medieval fortification in the centre that makes for a great little day trip.

  3. Bay of Kotor – you could not visit stunning Montenegro without a trip to the Bay of Kotor situated in the North of the country and bordering Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Also known as Boka Kotorska or the Gulf of Kotor, this area is famed for the charming little towns and villages, as well as popular Kotor. The old town of Kotor is listed a UNESCO World Heritage site being one of the best preserved medieval towns from the 12th to 14th century. There are plenty of Kotor Hotels and also some great private Villas in Kotor if you are looking for a getaway from the daily grind!
